July 20th, 2010. Shortly After 7:30am units were alerted for a vehicle collision with rescue in the area of Route 27 and Kate Wagner Road. Engine 32 and Medic 38 arrived to find a multiple vehicle collision involving a car vs. trash truck head-on. Engine 32 and Rescue Squad 9 handled the extrication while ambulance crews from surrounding areas evaluated the other patients involved. Haz-mat crews were called to the scene because of a large amount of hydraulic fluid leaking from the trash truck off of the roadway. Unfortunately the driver of the first passenger vehicle had succumbed to his injuries before MSP aviation could transport him to Shock Trauma.
