Small fire at KFC...

 July 7th, 2010. Shortly before 11am, Engine 32 and Tower 3 were clearing a call in "The Greens" when they were advised of a building fire at KFC on Mall Ring Road. Both units responded as well as Medic 38 and Engine 33 from the station. Engine 33 arrived to find a single story restaurant with fire showing from an exterior wall. Engine 33 extinguished the fire on the exterior while Engine 32 made entry to the building to check for extension and Tower 3 checked the roof. Minimal extension was found inside. The assignment was held with E33, E32, TWR3, T2, RS9. Units were in service within an hour.

Farm Equipment Starts Field Fire
   June 3rd, 2010.  Around 1600 hours Engine 32, Brush 35, and Engine 91 (Reese) were alerted for a field fire with farm equipment involved. Units arrived to find a large amount of the field on fire, a piece of equipment, and numerous round bails. A brush task force was requested to help with extinguishment. Units operated for just under two hours.

One Trapped at 27 and Old Manchester
   May 22, 2010. At 2009 hours Engine 32, IVT 38, and Rescue Squad 4 (Manchester) were alerted for a vehicle collision with one trapped at Rt. 27 and Old Manchester Road. Units arrived to find a T-bone like collision with the driver of one vehicle trapped. The driver was extricated and taken to Shock Trauma via land.

Early Morning Rescue
 May 19th, 2009. At 0530 hours Rescue assignment 3-27 was dispatched bringing Engine 32 and Medic 37 to Rt. 140 and Rt. 31 for a vehicle collision. Shortly after dispatch Rescue 9 (Reese) was added for reports of people trapped. Engine 32 arrived to find 3 vehicles involved with 2 priority 1's trapped in one of the vehicles. Crews worked together to take both the front doors of the car. 2 patients were taken to Shock Trauma Hospital and 1 patient was taken to Sinai Hospital.

WFD To Host Sportsman Drawing
This fall when Hunting season starts, the Westminster Fire Department will host it's 1st annual Sportsman Drawing. Dinner will be served to those who possess a ticket and 12 Guns and 2 Gift Certificates will be given away. Dinner to include Pit Beef and Ham, Green Beans, Au gratin Potatoes and much more . The Drawing will be held September 18, 2010 with doors opening at 6 p.m in the engine bay of the Westminster Fire Department located at 28 John Street in Downtown Westminster.
